Q4 2020 Performance of Top Navigation Apps on iOS in Brazil

In the fourth quarter of 2020, Brazil's iOS users showed consistent engagement with top navigation and maps applications. Sensor Tower's data gives us a glimpse into the download and usage trends of these essential tools for mobile navigation.

Google Maps maintained a strong presence with downloads peaking at roughly 80K in mid-October and weekly active users reaching a high of 5.6M in mid-December. Although the app saw no revenue, its user base remained stable throughout the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic also demonstrated steady performance, with downloads surging to over 53K in the final week of December. Weekly active users saw a peak of 4.3M in mid-October, although there was a slight decline to around 4M by the end of the quarter.

Google Earth experienced more modest download numbers, floating around 7K to 8K, and its weekly active users hovered just above 35K for most of the quarter, with a noticeable increase to nearly 39K in the last week of December.

Google Street View saw the lowest engagement among the top apps, with downloads rarely exceeding 2K and weekly active users staying below 3K. Despite these numbers, the app's user base showed a slight uptick as the quarter ended.

Sygic GPS Navigation & Maps, while not free of charge, generated modest revenue, peaking at $310 in late November. The app's downloads and weekly active users saw a downward trend, with downloads dipping to below 1K and active users decreasing to around 2.5K by the year's end.
